Free one day LED and Lighting Technical Forum for engineers
|
- Free of charge to pre registered engineers, managers or directors actively
involved in the design and manufacture of electronic components, modules and
systems.
|
- Refreshments served throughout the day and hot and cold buffet lunch is
provided free of charge.
|
- Pre book workshops – each session lasting up to 50 minutes.
- Pre book one to one meeting with sponsors.
Delegates will get the opportunity to visit Europe's largest private
collection of Formula 1 cars and test their driving skills in the sponsored F1
Simulator.

Programme of the day
|
Morning plenary session with pre approved Technical content
Technical presentations given by speakers from leading suppliers currently
with topics covering Microcontrollers in lighting applications to meet major
market trends such as higher intelligence, lower cost, reduce energy
consumption, higher efficacy and longer life.
Light shaping diffusers (LSDs). Shaping Light as required with little light lost
from a diffuser that transmits 93% of the light. Precise control of light angle,
hiding light sources and colour mixing.
|

|
Afternoon Workshops
Areas covered will include Thermal Management, delegates will be encouraged
to share their design issues and offered advice and solutions. Introducing
microcontrollers into lighting applications demonstrating the RL78 Lighting
Microcontroller (MCU), an Integrated MCU and LED Driver.
Demonstrations include DALI and DMX512, Graphical software tools and Lighting
design.
|

|
Networking Area
Delegates network with sponsors in a relaxed “club like” atmosphere with
Refreshments and lunch provided free of charge.
|

|
Other Sponsors include
ACAL BFi, Luminit, Excelsys, Solid State Supplies, LED Engin, Sunpower
Technology, Universal Science, MSC Gleichmann, Renesas, AVNET Abacus, Outsource
Electronics, Farnell Element14, Mean Well, Molex, Cree and TI.
Engineers from our sponsors will be available to answer your questions and

We are offering a free Renesas development kit to all attendees to our
workshop
|
|
MSC Gleichmann and Renesas have teamed up to provide all participants in
their LED&Lighting Design workshop with Renesas' latest RL78 "true low
power" microcontroller demonstration kit, an easy to use USB-stick styled
platform supporting on-chip debugging, Flash programming and full interactive
evaluation suite.
|
|
Key functions of the low power, high performance RL78 such as RTC, ADC,
Timers, safety functions and on-chip data Flash can be easily evaluated using
the intuitive GUI. Other simple I/O-functions (i.e. LED output, I/O lines, UART
serial interface, etc.), and not forgetting the class leading low power
consumption, can also be easily investigated.
|
|
When combined with the 16K evaluation IAR compiler and full source code of
the embedded GUI code, the kit makes an ideal introductory platform for RL78
device family, which includes the RL78/I1A "ultimate lighting microcontroller"
providing single-chip LED and Power Factor Correction control and a host of
other functions dedicated to differentiating lighting products whilst reducing
system cost.

|
The package contains everything the user needs to install and get going
within minutes of opening it, there is no need to download anything from the
Web!
