Smaller and More Compact - the 7.5 cm³ IDE Ruggedized SSD
Austin, Texas - November 2008 - Austin Semiconductor, Inc. (ASI), a leading supplier of high reliability (HI-REL) as well as, plastic encapsulated semiconductor products and services, announces a smaller, more compact 7.5 cm³ (31mm sq x 7.8mm max height) ruggedized Solid State Disk (SSD). The product will be distributed by MSC Vertriebs GmbH.
The newly redesigned Solid State Disk (SSD) supports an embedded IDE, PIO/4 interface, has MTBF of more than two million hours and is ideal for harsh environment operation (0-70C operations with future -40C to +85C).
The solid state disk is based on a proprietary package (ide) stacking technology to create an extremely space conscious, robust Solid State Disk.
The SSD is capable of operating in harsh, vibration prone product platforms such embedded computing applications, heavy transportation, ultra portables, handhelds, mobile computing, digital radio, high-speed networking & enterprise applications, as well as, military, aerospace and industrial applications.
