Small but powerful...     New very small 6-Pin tiny AVR- subfamily

Atmel® introduces a new 6-pin tinyAVR® microcontroller subfamily. The AVRs of this new subfamily are the smallest devices in the growing tinyAVR family. This new subfamily consists of the ATtiny10, ATtiny9, ATtiny5 and ATtiny4. They are packaged in a 6-pin SOT-23 package, measuring only 2.9mm x 1.6mm. The devices fit in a wide range of applications where size and cost are of high importance.

ATtiny10/9/5/4 are pin compatible to Microchip’s PIC10F product family. Customers may prefer ATtiny10/9/5/4 for their 16-bit Timer/Counter, PWM outputs, Analog Comparator, more SRAM or the higher performance AVR® CPU.

They have 1 KBytes or 512 Bytes flash memory and 32 bytes SRAM memory. The controller consumes only 200µA in active mode at 1 MHz and 1.8 Volt. The ATtiny5 and ATtiny10 has an additional 8-bit Analog/Digital-Converter. This new tinyAVRs run 6 times faster than other similar sized microcontrollers in the market.

Main Features

  • Four Channel 8-bit ADC (ATtiny10 and ATtiny5)
  • Up to 12 MHz @4.5 Volt
  • Rail-to-Rail Analog Comparator
  • 16-bit Timer with two PWM Outputs
  • 8 MHz Internal Calibrated RC Oscillator
  • Programmable WDT with Separate On-Chip Oscillator
  • 1.8 – 5.5V Operating Range
  • Less than 200 uA @1MHz in Active Mode
  • Less than 100nA in Power Down Mode

Atmel_tinyThis tinyAVR family includes a reduced AVR CPU. It has only 16 working registers and no instructions to access bigger than 128 bytes SRAM. In-System-Programming is only possible at 5 Volts by the Tiny Programming Interface (TPI). The ATSTK600 plus Adapter Board ATSTK600-TINY10 supports the programming via Tiny Programming Interface. The ATtiny10/9/5/4 has no On-Chip debug interface.
